Season 7 (Friday Mar 27 09)
In a very closely fought first leg of their League Cup semi final Wayne Smith finally got the better of Kevin Nieman in a five goal thriller with less than a minute left. Wayne carries a one goal lead to his "home" leg.
In league play Simon Hutchinson and Munir Merchant played back-to-back games. The first game ended goalless, and Simon won the second by a single goal. Wayne ran up the largest score of the season beating Dominic Hutchinson, who was so shell shocked that he did not want to play again tonight. Kevin won his second league game of the season in a game he described as the "most intense" match he has played.
There is no change at the top of the league table. Wayne has twelve points more than second place Simon. Simon remains in second with four more points than Jason Mitchell. Dominic is in fourth, just a point behind Jason and with a game in hand. Kevin moved up to fifth, two points behind Dominic, and with four games in hand. Steve Tucker is in seventh and has the most games of any player left to play, twelve. Munir dropped one place to seventh, and Adam Carlson remains in eighth.

Season 7 (Fri Mar 20 09)
Steve Tucker started his league play with two wins, defeating Dominic Hutchinson and Jason Mitchell by the same score. Jason had earlier won his third game of the season beating Munir Merchant. Munir went on to play out an exciting draw with Wayne Smith. It is always a scary thing to play Wayne after he is beaten or held to a draw. Adam Carlson was the unfortunate who was crushed by Wayne in the last game of the night.
Wayne remains in first place. There is only seven points separating second and eighth places. Jason's victory has him sharing second place with Simon Hutchinson. Dominic is a point behind them in fourth. Steve's two wins has him in fifth place three points behind Dominic and with games in hand over all the other players. Kevin Nieman and Munir share sixth place. Adam is in eighth just a point behind Kevin and Munir.
Jason pointed out at the end of the night if Steve can tie both of his games with Wayne and beat everyone else he would finish in first place at the end of Stage One.

| Home first leg | Home second leg | |

| Steve Tucker | v | Simon Hutchinson |
There were howls of disappointment as the draw was made as the two favorites, Wayne Smith and Steve Tucker, were kept apart.
The semi finals must be completed by April 17.
Season 7 (Fri Mar 13 09)
It was a high scoring night with 24 goals scored in six league and cup games.
Tonight was the last night for first round games in the Southern California Subbuteo Club's Season 7 League Cup. Wayne Smith had taken a slender one goal lead to the "away" leg in his tie with Jason Mitchell. He came on strong in the second leg and beat Jason by four goals. In the other outstanding tie Kevin Nieman and Adam Carlson played back-to-back legs. Kevin won both games comfortably. Wayne and Kevin join Simon Hutchinson and Steve Tucker in the semi finals.
In League play the battle of the Hutchinsons saw son, Dominic, take a two goal lead and then father, Simon, fought back to score two goals in the last three minutes, including penalty scored right at the end of the game, for a tie. In the highest scoring game of the season Jason Mitchell and Wayne Smith shared eight goals as Wayne's winning ways continued. Jason bounced back to beat Adam Carlson in the last game of the night.
There are no changes in the positions of the players in the league table. Wayne remains in first place, leading second place Simon by nine points. Simon has still have a single point lead over Dominic, who has a game in hand. Jason, fourth, is two points behind Dominic but has played one game more. Kevin is in fifth place, three points behind Jason with four games in hand. Adam and Munir Merchant have three points, and Munir has two games in hand. Steve Tucker sits at the foot of the table and he is yet to play a game this season.

Season 7 (Fri Mar 6 09)
In the first round of the first round of the Southern California Subbuteo Club's Season 7 League cup Wayne Smith narrowly beat Jason Mitchell, and carries only a 1-0 to Jason's home leg.
League play opened with a highly contentious game between Adam Carlson and Dominic Hutchinson. The argument over a goal resulted in the second half being replayed. Dominic, who had scored in the first half, managed to hang on to win the game. Adam bounced back to cause an upset beating Simon Hutchinson, taking advantage of his opponent using the "away" goalkeeper to score two well taken goals. He was not so fortunate in his last game being beaten by Wayne by the biggest winning margin this season.
In the other league game Jason won his first game of the campaign, defeating Dominic.
Wayne remains in first place, with seven more points than second place. The surprise results have kept the rest of the players only separated by a few points. Simon is in second place, with one more point than Dominic, who has a game in hand. Jason's first win puts him ihas him tied for fourth place with Kevin Nieman, who has two games in hand. Adam and Munir Merchant are in sixth place one point behind fourth place and with games in hand. Steve Tucker is yet to play a league game.
