ASA Open in June (Sun May 25 08)
The Southern California Subbuteo Club will be hosting an American Subbuteo Association Open tournament on Saturday June 21 in Northridge.
Everyone is welcome to participate, no matter their skill level. All participants will receive ASA ranking points.

17. Western States Open (by Simon Hutchinson)
The Western States Open returns to the Golden State after a four year absence.
This year's tournament will be held in Simi Valley, California, on Saturday August 23, 2008.
The Western States Open was first played as an American Subbuteo Association Major tournament in 1999 hosted by Southern California Subbuteo
Club (SCSC), and was won by the SCSC's Wayne Smith. After a three year hiatus the Boise Unemployed Subbuteo League (BUSL) hosted the competition
in Idaho in 2003. The following year the tournament returned to Southern California, when Wayne Smith became the first person to be a two time
champion. The 2005 competition returned to Idaho, who have hosted it in 2006 and 2007.
The winner of the 2007 tournament was Lenny Foster of the BUSL.

It has been four years since it was was last played in the Golden State, the Western States Open returns to California on August 23. This year's
event is being hosted by Dominic and Simon
Hutchinson in Simi Valley.

Simon Hutchinson reaches 300 (Sun May 11 08)
Simon Hutchinson becomes the second SCSC players to have played 300 games. He played his 300th game on Friday night beating his son, Dominic, 3-0 in the Werder Weekly.
