Notes
The first player is the "home" player, the second player was the "away" player and had to use the small Subbuteo or Zeugo style goalkeeper.
Fri Sep 18: Jason Mitchell 0 v Simon Hutchinson 0
Goals
None.
Pitch : Pumpkin Patch, Maricopa, Simi Valley
Comments:
Jason: An even game. I think I had the edge in the first half. Simon dominated the second, but I nearly stole it in the last second. Overall a good result.
Simon: Disappointed I could not capitalize the amount of possession I had into goals. I had several shots he had to save, but none were really good shots.
Fri Sep 18: League Cup first round: Munir Merchant 1 v Wayne Smith 2 (SO, AET 0-0)
Goals
None.
Shoot out
| Shot | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
| Munir | save | save | goal | miss | save |
| Wayne | goal | save | goal | save |
Pitch : Pumpkin Patch, Maricopa, Simi Valley
Comments:
Wayne: Munir controlled the early going with a post and forced a save. Neither of us got used to the speed [of the new pitch]. Eventually I put some pressure on and bit two posts and he made two saves. Both of us threw figures forward, but marking was tight and shooting was poor. In the shoot out I made the first shot, which made it hard for Munir to mount a come back.
Fri Sep 18: Dominic Hutchinson 0 v Jason Mitchell 2 (HT 0-1)
Goals
First half
0-1 4:37 Jason.
Second half
0-2 14:45 Jason.
Pitch : Drey, Maricopa, Simi Valley
Comments:
Dominic: I feel that I played OK. A couple of stupid mistakes lead me to my 0-2 loss. Oh well, at least Jason's 101st game is a win.
Jason: A good win. I had numerous chances. Dominic's play has fallen apart big type.
Fri Sep 18: Dominic Hutchinson 1 v Simon Hutchinson 1 (HT 0-0)
Goals
Second half
0-1 7:02 Simon
1-1 10:36 Dominic (own goal)
Pitch : Pumpkin Patch, Maricopa, Simi Valley
Comments:
Dominic: I felt I played well. The end result was lower than I expected, but it is better than a loss... My goal was actually an own goal by Simon. I flicked the ball onto his goal line, where he dragged it in [to the goal]. Overall a good result.
Simon: A poor performance. I had lots of play, but could not turn it into shots. I lost count of the number of corners I won. For his goal I dragged the ball into my goal with the goalkeeper without being under pressure. Very, very disappointed.
Fri Sep 18: Wayne Smith 6 v Jason Mitchell 2 (HT 2-1)
Goals
First half
1-0 1:28 Wayne
2-0 2:49 Wayne
2-1 12:05 Jason.
Second half
3-1 5:10 Wayne
4-1 7:00 Wayne
5-1 7:54 Wayne
6-1 11:57 Wayne
6-2 12:47 Jason.
Pitch : Drey, Maricopa, Simi Valley
Comments:
Wayne: Jason's marking was pretty poor for the first three minutes. the next 18 minutes I couldn't get an opening and Jason scored a nice goal to cut the leaf to 2-1. At about the 11th minute mark Jason started putting more players up and that's when I got lots of openings. Jason's last goal was a cracker.
Jason: Defense was shocking. Wayne scored every chance he created. I still think I have improved dramatically.
Fri Sep 18: Simon Hutchinson 1 v Wayne Smith 2 (HT 0-0)
Goals
Second half
0-1 4:54 Wayne
1-1 5:49 Simon
1-2 9:46 Wayne.
Pitch : Drey, Maricopa, Simi Valley
Comments:
Wayne: Really tough game. This league has gotten very competitive and there are no easy games, at least, not on the "road". Simon's marking was terrific in the first half an I don't think I had a decent chance in the first 15 [minutes]. After my first goal it didn't take a minute for Simon to equalize. I had a number of shots saved in the second half. Fortunately I managed a good shot over Simon's keeper with about five minutes left. I managed to hold on and time ran out as Simon got the ball over my shooting line.
Simon: A very even game. It was a game with lots of midfield play and saves from both goalkeepers. When Wayne scored, straight from the kick off, I went up and equalized. Disappointed to have conceded a second , but losing to Wayne by only one goal is an achievement.
Fri Sep 25: Wayne Smith 3 v Simon Hutchinson 0 (HT 1-0)
Goals
First half
1-0 2:20 Wayne.
Second half
2-0 9:20 Wayne
3-0 11:50 Wayne.
Pitch : Mawra, Porter Ranch
Comments:
Wayne: A very tough game to get good shots. My last goal was, for example, too close and too bad an angle, but I lucked out and hit it high off the far post and in. My defense wasn't up to scratch, every time I made a bad mistake Simon would hit the wrong side of the ball and let me off the hook. He also hit the inside of the post when the score was 1-0.
Fri Sep 25: Kevin Nieman 2 v Dominic Hutchinson 0 (HT 1-0)
Goals
First half
1-0 8:22 Kevin.
Second half
2-0 11:08 Kevin.
Pitch : Fast pitch, Porter Ranch
Comments:
Kevin: My flicks were solid, my offense was effective, and the 2-0 score bears this out. I felt Dominic was erratic in his flicks, and his defense was porous enough to break through.
Dominic: I played well, nothing much else to say.
Fri Sep 25: Munir Merchant 1 v Simon Hutchinson 1 (HT 0-0)
As Merchant resigned from the season before playing 50% of his fixtures this game is considered a Supplemental game.
Goals
Second half
1-0 4:20 Munir
1-1 6:40 Simon.
Pitch : Mawra, Porter Ranch
Comments:
Munir: Tight game, very controlled and defensive. Unfortunate to give away [a goal] with the spare keeper and one good breakaway goal.
Simon: I gave away the first goal as I was sure it was the figure's fourth flick. Munir gifted me the equalizer as I forced him into a rash flick with his spare goalkeeper that left me with possession, in the penalty area, behind his defense, with an undefended goal. One touch to line up, and goal. Another away draw, this is becoming a habit for me.
Fri Sep 25: Kevin Nieman 0 v Wayne Smith 2 (HT 0-1)
Goals
First half
0-1 6:47 Wayne.
Second half
0-2 11:03 Wayne.
Pitch : Fast pitch, Porter Ranch
Comments:
Kevin: Although the game was 2-0, I felt I had Wayne right where I wanted him. He was playing into my trap on his goals, and I would have unleashed a goal scoring flurry if I hadn't sprained by flicking finger. Next time Wayne... next time.
Wayne: Kevin's touch was excellent in the midfield, but not near my goal. With five seconds left I made a save, but my keeper was just over the "six yard" box line. Time ran out, but we added extra time. Unfortunately for Kevin, he couldn't convert. This was my lowest scoring league match so far.
Fri Sep 25: Munir Merchant 2 v Dominic Hutchinson 0 (HT 0-0)
As Merchant resigned from the season before playing 50% of his fixtures this game is considered a Supplemental game.
Goals
None.
Pitch : Mawra, Porter Ranch
Comments:
Dominic: I felt I played moderately well. Munir definitely played well, and deserved the win. Now he needs to play win and be crushed!
Munir: I ended up throwing a lot of attackers up to break through Dominic's defense, which was "stout". Eventually I broke through on the right side and got a bouncing shot through. Second goal was a line drive.
Fri Sep 25: Kevin Nieman 3 v Munir Merchant 0 (HT 1-0)
As Merchant resigned from the season before playing 50% of his fixtures this game is considered a Supplemental game.
Goals
First half
1-0 10:53 Kevin.
Second half
2-0 6:23 Kevin
3-0 14:13 Kevin.
Pitch : Mawra, Porter Ranch
Comments:
Munir: I felt like the first half was pretty even. The second I pushed forward and self destructed on defense. I was frustrated not to have had more chances offensively. Kevin played very well and capitalized on his chances.
Kevin: I actually felt strong throughout this match. Munir had very good control, but when I scored, he pushed so many figures forward that I had the advantage when I won back possession. It was a marked contrast to my performance against Wayne earlier.
