Format
- Stage 1: All players will play each other twice, "home" and "away".
- Stage 2: When Stage 1 is complete the players will be divided into two groups, top half
and bottom half. The players in each group will play each other twice
more (and not play the players in the other group). The players who finishes top of bottom group cannot pass the player who finishes bottom of the top group even
if they win more points.
- League nights would be rotated between venues and scheduled days in advance.
- Games can be played on other days but there must be a third party present to witness game.
Duration
- Stage 1: February 13 – May 1, 2009
- Stage 2: May 2 - May 31, 2009
Forfeits
- Players who do not complete their games before the deadline...
- If they have played less than 75% of their games their record will be
expunged.
- If they have played at least 75% of their games all remaining games will
be forfeited as a win to their opponents.
- If a player does not complete Stage 1 they will not be invited to participate in Stage 2.
Commitment
- All players will commit to making at least two appearances at "league nights" per month.
- Players will play a league games rather than a friendlies on a "league
night" if there are players they have outstanding games against present.
Exception: if the same players have already played a league game earlier the same day.
Home and Away
- Goalkeepers
- The "away" player must use a Subbuteo, Zeugo, or similar style of goalkeeper.
- First and Second choice teams
- Every player will declare their first and second choice teams. The
combination of base and figure colors will be different from each other.
- If the "home" player decides that the "away" player's team is too similar to
his, in either base or figure color, he will ask the "away" player to use his
second team.
- If the "away" player's second team, in the opinion of the "home" player, still
clashes with his first choice team he has the following choices:
- Ask the "away" player to use his first team as the "home" player feels that it
is less like his first team than the second team
- Ask the "away" player to use his second team as the "home" player feels that
it is less like his first team than the first team
- The "home" player will use his second team
- When there is more than one pitch available and there is more than one
league game going to be played the "home" payer who is lowest in the table has
first pick on the pitch to use. The second lowest "home" player has the
second pick, etc.
Points
- Win = 3 points, Draw = 1 point, Loss = 0 point
- When two players have the same number of points they will be ranked by head-to-head results,
and then by a shoot out.
- Goal difference will not be used.
League Cup
- The League Cup will be a knock out challenge cup (similar to the FA Cup).
- Each round will ties of two legs.
- The first player's name drawn will be the "home" player for the first leg.
- If the aggregate score is level after the two legs away goals count as
double.
- If the aggregate score, including away goals counting as double, is still level
then the tie will be decided by shoot out. Both players can use the
goalkeeper of their choice during the shoot out. There will not be extra
time.
- The draw for the first round will be made on the first night of the season.
- The draw for subsequent rounds will be made when all the ties of the
previous round have been played.
