Jason:  At last I beat Adam, but only by a huge Adam mistake.  I cannot remember the last time I beat him.

Adam:  Jason played great.  I thought I played pretty well and it was a great game.  I lost it once and that is when he scored.

Comments:

Steve:   Another good game.  Even in possession.  I had a few more shots and opportunities, and I nipped it.  I think I was rushing in the second half [leading to more unforced errors].

Simon:  Steve scored a great first goal.  I am very disappointed to have conceded the second.  The game was closer than the score line suggests, but he just edges me now.

Wayne:  Steve scored the nicest goal of the season.

Steve:  That was the best goal I have scored in a long time.  A long ball from defense, a rolling ball, an extended body, on one leg, into top corner.  Still lost 3-1 though.

Wayne:  My comment after the goal was "Wow".  I thought my marking was very good, was actually better than my offense.

Comments:

Wayne:  It's getting really, really hard to get an open shot on goal against Simon.  I had two very good chances, I hit the crossbar.  Simon's defense is brilliant.  Particularly in the first half Simon missed flicks he usually makes, but I know he hates this pitch.

Simon:  Disappointed to have conceded the goal.  I did have several opening but misflicked to fall short [of the ball].

Adam:  I did pretty good for my first game [for several weeks].  I was very surprised to have scored.  My first goal was surprising.  My second goal was lucky, I got a very lucky break.  I am very happy for the draw.

Kevin:  Adam flicked very well.  He took advantage of several defensive lapses of mine to score two well earned goals.  My next match with Adam will be my revenge!

Steve:  There was a lot of action.  I am glad to win the game.  I needed it to hold my place in the standings.  I felt I had more possession than I normally do, and it gave me more shots.

Simon:  I was very disappointed to have conceded the first goal.  His second was a cracker.  I found the slope of the pitch hard to cope with as in the second half the ball kept running away from me.

Comments:

Simon:  I decided to play an open and attacking game as opposed to my normal eight man defense.  It made a difference on the way the game panned out as Wayne could not push forward and leave gaps in his defense.  Finally, someone has stopped Wayne's 100% record.

Wayne:  Damn!  Simon's tactics worked very well.  He clogged midfield and made defensive flicks when he needed to, combined with not making the flicks I needed to.  Simon almost come away with 1-0 [with the last shot of the game].

Comments:

Wayne:  Another difficult game.  Again my lack of practice was showing.  Steve was off as much as I was.  Finally, after hitting the goalkeeper eight times in the last two games I finally got one over the goalkeeper and into the goal, nicking the goalkeeper.  My frustration was overflowing and I managed to put  it behind me to score the last goal.

Steve:  Even when Wayne plays bad, I play worse.  I was keeping possession but could not put it together.
