Steve Tucker 3 v Munir Merchant 0 (HT 2-0)
"I was not thinking well," Munir lamented. "I made lots of thinking mistakes. I played a little better in the second half, but not much better."
"I though Munir's flicks were good," said Steve complimenting his opponent. "I thought his decision were not good. The midfield was even. He was not purring his defensive guys where they needed to be."
Simon Hutchinson 0 v Munir Merchant 0
"A game was few chances," Simon explained.
"The best chance I had was the last one," Munir injected, "and I missed the ball."
"I did the same at the other end," Simon agreed.
"We did not play bad, we just could not get through the defenses," Munir explained.
Wayne Smith 3 v Steve Tucker 0 (HT 2-0)
"Steve and I played the most even first fourteen minutes and thirty seconds," Wayne reported. "Both of us had really good chances. Steve's keeper made a really good save. But in the last 30 seconds [of the first half] I scored two goals, both of which just trickled into the goal. They certainly weren't chipped [shots]. The second one I was in such a hurry to shoot before Steve got his hand on the goalkeeper. I don't think the ball hot the back bar [of the goal]. The second half was a lot of pressure from Steve."
"I felt it was an even first half," Steve agreed. "I every aspect except I got a little cocky at the end of the first half. I did not cover and gave Wayne the chance, and you don't give Wayne chances.
"It tired to play a fast game in the beginning and then had two fast goals scored on me.
"In the second half I thought I pressed but he held it up in defense."
Wayne Smith 2 v Munir Merchant 0 (HT 0-0)
"The first half I thought was pretty even," Munir explained, "not many chances and pretty even with possession."
He continued. "In the second half Wayne had sixty percent of the possession and broke through my defense a few times. I need to learn how to build offensively."
"What he said," Wayne agreed. "In the first half I did not have... I had once chance at goal and Munir leaving me the near post high with the goalkeeper. Then I showed him a short goalkeeping lesson. Then I shot the ball into his goalkeeper.
"In the second half I had more chances. The first goal I got around his line on the left side and shot high into the far post and in. On the second goal he left one of my figures all alone in the middle of the shooting line. I made a pass from my shooting line one the right side and it [the ball] curled to right in front of my figure in the middle of the line. It was pretty lucky."
Steve Tucker 1 v Simon Hutchinson 0 (HT 1-0)
"Well," Steve started, "in the first five minutes I was just all over Simon. I had shots and two corners. The next ten minutes I has less but still had possession. As the game wore on Simon pressed hard and won three corners and two posts. For the last fie minutes I was hanging on."
He went on to describe his goal. "I felt I had three other chances that would have been much better goals. If his hand was not there it would have been a throw in."
"It was a lucky goal," was Simon's opinion. "The ball from a shot that was going well wide struck my hand I was trying to make a blocking flick and ricocheted into the goal."
